1. Find out what is motivating you to lose weight and establish if it’s strong enough to support you for the duration of the diet, if not then find a new motivator.

2. Make your target weight clear; be very specific; your subconscious mind naturally follows specific goals

3. Create a trigger that reminds you of your goal, i.e. Every time you make a cup of tea imagine yourself at your target weight.

4. Visualize your goal as already accomplished, close your mind to contrary thoughts – see, hear and feel exactly how you would the second you have achieved your target weight. Try this just as you wake up and just before you go to sleep.

5. Read books or articles about weight loss, know your topic and become a professional. By educating yourself in slimming allows you to overcome barriers in the future.

6. Mix with others who already have achieved your goal, we subconsciously mirror people who we mix with on a regular basis, join a gym or health club.

7. Live as though you have already achieved your goal, by feeling great about your weight gives you the self confidence to strive for the next level.

8. Reward yourself for doing well, for ever pound you lose indulge yourself in some form of enjoyment. Retail therapy works well.

9. Repeat positive affirmations such as: “I have the desire and inner strength to achieve my goal”. Repeat this affirmation, with faith and strong feelings.

10. Start with doing something small concerning your goal. Success in small chunks leads to greater success.
